Finally, Vera's reached pole position for crawling.
Not that she's doing any of it yet, but at least she lets us put her in this position...happily. Her hands have gained strength gradually but are still not strong enough to support her weight unassisted; they buckle if I take my hands away. But I'm sure that will improve with time.
Meanwhile, she has also shown signs of wanting to walk, can you believe it? When we hold her under the arms in a standing position, she will lift one foot. When we shift her weight and place it down, she'll lift the other. I am so amazed by this little girl.
Slowly surprise us, Vera. The satisfaction is sweeter for the wait.

How true! What an amazing--and amazingly cute!--little girl! So full of surprises!
so amazing! She is doing so well. I love the picture of such joy on her face and yours!
yay for vera! she is making such amazing strides! have you ever heard of elbow immobilizers? we use them with kaiya when she is in that position so i can sit in front of her with my hands free to entertain her (and try to coax her to move those little arms forward and crawl...)they are also pretty handy for keeping kaiya's hands away from her mouth when she's been chewing on her fingers too much! she looks really proud of herself in the pic. what a big girl she is getting to be!
Vera looks so darn proud of herself and rightfully so.
