An extraordinary girl living with Trisomy 18
"A simple child, that lightly draws its breath, and feels its life in every limb,
What should it know of death?"
- William Wordsworth
Without weakness,
how do we find strength?
Without darkness,
how do we see the light?
Without sorrow,
how do we savour joy?
Without silence,
how do we learn to listen?
Without fear,
how do we learn to be brave?
Without death,
how do we treasure life?
Without loss,
how would we know what we have gained?
- Yin May

Very, very cute Princess Vera
The queen is on her throne. Thank you for the good tips about the spine. We learn so much when you share. I was wondering how she is doing on bi-pap. Annabel is back sick and probably needs it but her mucus is so thick it is too big a chance. Her sats are going in the very low 50's and stay for longer period of time. I am sure it is the mucous blocking her airway. I am praying you are able to get some much needed rest for yourself. Thank you for the great picture.
Nice picture with a cute Princess. I like it.

Beautiful Princess! She is doing so great.
May, because you and Cathy find such similar issues with your girls with the CPAP maybe this treatment isn't such a good plan for your T18 girls. Considering their other respiratory issues and lack of muscle strength, what may be helpful for others may not be a help at all for Vera or Annabel. Hope you two can find out more of other little one's experiences. As Cathy says you all learn so much when you share. Maybe at the conference coming up you will learn more.
You and Cathy are wonderful, amazing moms. Keep up the great work and all the advocating for your little princess!
Thanks for your insight Kathy. You may be right, because I have the same hunch too. Perhaps the reason she doesn't want the mask is that it'll be difficult for her? Really wonder if there's any other medical option besides CPAP.
Your little Vera and Annabel and other little T-18 warriors are trail blazers and it's wonderful that you have the blogs and internet to share your experiences. As a mom of adult kids I do think we need to trust our hunches. (Learned that from experience, good and bad.)
You know Vera best. Hopefully some mom has walked this trail all ready and can offer some insight.
Prayers continue for you and Vera!
